If you want to participate, check web sites for forbidden items such as pork products. Items don’t have to be expensive: recycle your magazines, DVD’s, Halloween candy, etc. It takes 2-4 weeks to reach an APO addresses so send seasonal items well ahead of time.

Include pictures of senders and notes to personalize to recipient. Finding a recipient by word of mouth is more personalized than using a web site.
